Volunteering is an experience which challenges, engages, rewards, and transforms. Whether you give an hour, a day, or more, volunteerism is at the core of what it means to be a true ACT3 3rd Stager. Serving can take place in your own family, church, community non-profit, or even in your own home.  Volunteering helps counteract stress, anxiety, depression and gives a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment and helps you stay active and physically healthy!

Revisit your strengths, spiritual gifts, passions and skills - Search our Programs that align with your passions. You can filter by cause and select the causes that you feel strongly about.  Visit the website of the program that you are interested in and learn about their impact to the community. Don’t forget to fan them so you can see what all they are doing!

Get started - find your first opportunity - You can find opportunities for the program you selected by scrolling down to their program page or head over to opportunities and find them there.  You can also filter skill, program etc. on that page.

Stay Connected - for ongoing service and deeper engagement. - Some programs require you fill an application, allow a background check, or participate in training.  Make sure you respond in a timely manner and complete tasks needed.  As you become involved in the organization, share your skills and strengths with staff members, they may have other tasks not listed as opportunities that they will want you to engage in. More commitment often results in more responsibility.  Watch for communications and stay current in any paperwork or training etc. required.

Volunteering opportunities are very prevalent during the holiday season…Jump in!
